Cosmetic Science 101 for Estheticians Course
This is a foundational course for estheticians who want to learn about cosmetic science and how it impacts their practices. The course will provide a background on cosmetic product types, cosmetic ingredients, regulatory issues and product claims.
Estheticians will gain deeper insight of skin care formulations, how they work, and how to utilize them effectively in the treatment room. The course will also cover new and emerging cosmetic ingredient research and technologies.

- Classifications and regulations of cosmetics, drugs, OTCs drugs
- Roles of U.S. State & Federal Agencies in the Regulation of Cosmetics
- Cosmetic product types
- Concepts of natural, chemical, synthetic and organic ingredients
- Overview of cosmetic ingredients
- Products Ingredient Labeling
- Overview of Skin Anatomy and Physiology
- Overview of pathophysiology of common skin diseases
- Overview of skin care products are formulated common skin diseases
- Ingredient trends in skincare
- Practical steps to utilizing cosmetic science in treating skincare needs of clients

Cosmetic Science 101 for Estheticians Course is taught by renowned Cosmetic Chemist and Esthetician, Eunice Cofie-Obeng. She is the President and Chief Cosmetic Chemist of Nuekie - an innovative health and beauty company for people of color.
Eunice is a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry/molecular biology, University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy with a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in Cosmetic Science and has completed the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Global Leadership and Public Policy Executive Education program.
She has been featured in Forbes, Skin, Inc., Essence, and other major media outlets.
